BIS · ISI
The ISI mark, from application to marking.
The ISI mark under BIS Scheme-I is a factory-based licence: your production line, in-house testing and quality control are assessed before the licence is granted, and surveillance keeps it honest afterwards. We prepare the factory, the documents and the application so the audit goes right the first time.
- Regulator
- Bureau of Indian Standards - Scheme-I (domestic manufacturers)
- You receive
- BIS licence (CM/L number) to mark your products with ISI
- Included
- AIR representation for foreign manufacturers

Why it can’t wait: Products under an ISI-scheme Quality Control Order cannot be sold in India without the mark - enforcement includes seizure at retail and penalties on the manufacturer.
